This agreement builds on an existing multi-billion-dollar procurement framework aimed at strengthening air and missile defense systems. The GEM-T variant is optimized for engaging high-speed airborne threats, utilizing real-time sensor updates to refine targeting accuracy during flight. With its extended engagement range and proven reliability, the missile forms a key component of the US military’s layered defense network. Work on the contract will be carried out through 2026, supporting operational readiness.
