Defence Research and Development Organisation is advancing a high-power laser weapon system capable of delivering 300 kW output for countering modern aerial threats. Designed with scalable architecture and precision targeting capabilities, the system can neutralize multiple threats rapidly while maintaining a low cost per engagement. Its mobility and adaptability make it suitable for deployment across different terrains and missions, including protection against drone swarms. While challenges such as power management and atmospheric interference remain, ongoing research aims to ensure reliable performance, positioning the system as a key component of India’s future layered air defence network.
