General Dynamics Land Systems has received a $54.3 million US Army contract to provide field maintenance and other sustainment services for the Stryker family of armored vehicles.The agreement will provide original equipment manufacturer assistance, field service representatives, and support for vehicle fielding when digital technical manuals and logistics documentation have not yet been completely integrated.The contract runs until August 24, 2031. Specific work locations and funding levels will be established through individual orders issued during the program.Stryker Brigade Combat Teams rely on the eight-wheeled vehicle as their principal combat and support platform. The family provides protected transportation, mobility, firepower, reconnaissance, and specialist battlefield functions.The Stryker lineup includes multiple configurations covering infantry transport, reconnaissance, command-and-control, medical evacuation, engineering, mortar operations, and anti-armor missions.The latest sustainment award comes as the Army continues to introduce upgrades across the fleet. In December 2025, soldiers conducted live-fire testing of a modernized Stryker equipped with a 30mm cannon at Yakima Training Center.During the exercise, crews also used digital command-and-control technologies that allowed commanders to receive real-time information and make adjustments to vehicle movements and weapons employment.Earlier in 2025, the Army received its first Strykers equipped with improved double-V hulls. The revised hull design is intended to redirect blast energy from mines and explosive devices away from occupants.General Dynamics has also been examining additional armor technologies under the Stryker Enhanced Armor program. The evaluation focuses on how new protection systems can be integrated into the vehicle while maintaining durability and operational performance.The new contract will therefore support both routine field readiness and the Army’s continuing modernization of its Stryker formations.
