The latest iteration of the WhAP 8×8 armored vehicle showcases substantial improvements in firepower, protection, and digital battlefield integration. Developed jointly by DRDO and Kalyani Group, the platform now incorporates a 30mm autocannon, a 12.7mm remote weapon station, anti-tank missile launchers, and advanced electro-optical targeting systems. The inclusion of hunter-killer engagement capability enables rapid target detection and prosecution, while a laser warning system enhances survivability against guided threats. Retaining amphibious mobility, the vehicle also features upgraded crew awareness systems, improved ergonomics, and greater operational flexibility. The enhancements position the WhAP as a versatile multi-role combat vehicle suited for modern mechanized warfare.
