Rheinmetall has secured a German contract to supply 23 Bergepanzer 3 Büffel armored recovery vehicles, replacing units previously provided to Ukraine. Valued in the mid-three-digit million-euro range, the deal strengthens Germany’s armored support fleet with upgraded A2-standard vehicles. Designed around the Leopard 2 tank platform, the Büffel provides heavy-duty recovery, repair, and battlefield assistance capabilities. Equipped with powerful winches, a rotating crane, and advanced protection features, the vehicle supports damaged armored formations in combat zones. Deliveries are set to begin next year and continue through 2029 as part of Germany’s broader military modernization efforts.
