Israeli defense company Plasan has launched three new survivability solutions designed to address evolving battlefield threats facing armored vehicles. The ATHENA armor system provides enhanced protection against shaped charges, rocket-propelled grenades, and explosively formed penetrators without relying on energetic materials. Complementing this are the TAPS Top Attack Protection System and LAPS Leg Active Protection System, which focus on defending vehicles against aerial threats and underbody attacks. The solutions reflect lessons learned from recent conflicts where drones, top-attack munitions, and advanced anti-armor weapons have become major threats to mechanized forces.
