India’s growing emphasis on indigenous unmanned systems has led to new Army contracts for Hild Defence and Aerospace’s Atlas heavy-lift attack drone and Talon FPV loitering munition. The Atlas platform is capable of carrying mortar payloads for precision battlefield strikes while operating in challenging environments, including high-altitude regions. Meanwhile, the Talon FPV drone provides low-cost precision engagement capabilities against tactical targets. These acquisitions support the Army’s broader objective of developing a layered unmanned warfare ecosystem spanning reconnaissance, strike, and loitering munition roles while strengthening India’s domestic drone industry.
