Fincantieri, Italy’s leading shipbuilder, has introduced an advanced underwater drone system developed to safeguard essential underwater assets and ensure maritime security in ports and along coastlines.
The system, called DEEP, marks the company’s first fully integrated underwater drone platform designed for dual-use operations across civil and defense sectors. It can perform missions such as seabed surveillance, deep-water reconnaissance, and environmental data collection.
Its architecture features a sensor-based underwater early-warning grid, a real-time command center, and a coordinated team of autonomous underwater vehicles.
