Aryavart Technologies Development Pvt. Ltd., a defence startup based in Bhopal, has unveiled its latest unmanned aerial platform named TEJAS STOL, designed for tactical battlefield operations and long-range surveillance missions. The company had previously supplied the indigenous ARYA-5001 tactical UAV to the Indian Air Force in 2025. The TEJAS STOL is a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with Short Take-Off and Landing capability and vehicle-launch functionality, allowing operations from remote and compact deployment zones without the need for traditional runway infrastructure. The platform has been developed to meet India’s growing military and border security requirements with a focus on indigenous technology. According to Aryavart Technologies, the UAV combines advanced autonomous flight systems with resilient communication architecture capable of operating in electronically contested environments. The aircraft is designed for reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, surveillance, and precision mission support across modern battlefield scenarios. One of the UAV’s key strengths is its ability to combine high-speed tactical performance with long-endurance capability, enabling extended mission persistence over operational areas. The TEJAS STOL can also carry advanced Electro-Optical and Infrared payloads to conduct intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions during both day and night operations. The company stated that the UAV incorporates Electronic Warfare-resistant communication and navigation systems capable of countering threats such as GPS spoofing, jamming, and electronic interference. The vehicle-launch capability further enhances deployment flexibility, allowing rapid launch from tactical vehicles or forward operating bases in difficult terrain. These features make the platform highly suitable for border surveillance, counter-insurgency operations, and tactical battlefield monitoring. The unveiling of TEJAS STOL highlights the growing role of Indian private-sector startups in strengthening the country’s indigenous drone ecosystem under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
