Teledyne FLIR Defense has expanded its tactical drone portfolio with the launch of the Black Recon, a compact reconnaissance UAV engineered for extended intelligence-gathering missions. Despite its lightweight design, the platform offers up to an hour of endurance and carries advanced thermal and visible-spectrum imaging payloads. The drone is designed to support military units with real-time surveillance, target identification, and battlefield awareness while operating beyond line-of-sight limitations. A key feature is its Visual Inertial Navigation technology, allowing the aircraft to navigate without continuous communications, making it suitable for covert operations and environments where GPS or radio signals may be denied or disrupted.
