The European Maritime Safety Agency has selected Airbus’ Flexrotor uncrewed aerial system under a €30 million maritime surveillance framework, marking its first operational deployment in Europe. Beginning in 2026, the VTOL drone will provide real-time EO/IR and radar surveillance to EU coast guards, supporting search-and-rescue, fisheries control, and maritime security.
