New Delhi has authorized funding for a new military drone technology center at IIT Kanpur aimed at accelerating the country’s unmanned systems capabilities. The 5-billion-rupee initiative will serve as a centralized platform for research, testing, development, and deployment of advanced drone technologies. Planned capabilities include military payload assembly, networking solutions, ground support infrastructure, and anti-drone systems.
