German drone manufacturer and defense electronics specialist have signed an agreement to integrate signal intelligence technology into tactical unmanned aircraft. The partnership is intended to expand electronic intelligence capabilities to smaller drone platforms capable of operating closer to frontline environments. SIGINT payloads can detect and analyze electronic emissions from radar, communications systems, satellites, and air defense networks, functions usually carried out by large surveillance aircraft or high-end unmanned systems. The collaboration will mark the first integration of a Rohde & Schwarz SIGINT suite onto a German tactical UAV, enabling more agile and cost-effective electromagnetic reconnaissance missions in modern combat environments.
