India is set to receive expanded support for its Apache helicopters and M777A2 artillery systems after the US approved two defense sustainment packages valued at more than $428 million. The agreements cover long-term logistics, repairs, training, spare parts, and technical services for the Indian Armed Forces’ frontline attack helicopters and lightweight artillery platforms. India currently operates 28 AH-64E Apaches and 145 M777A2 howitzers, many of which were locally assembled under industrial partnerships. The US described India as a critical regional defense partner and emphasized that the deals would enhance operational readiness without altering the regional military balance.
