India is set to receive expanded US defense support after Washington cleared $428.2 million worth of sustainment packages for Apache attack helicopters and M777A2 howitzers. Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and BAE Systems will provide technical services, logistics support, training, and repair assistance. India currently operates 28 AH-64E Apaches and 145 M777A2 artillery systems, many of which are deployed in mountainous operational areas. The approval reflects growing US-India strategic cooperation and ensures that key frontline systems remain combat-ready for long-term operations.
