The US State Department has cleared Belgium’s request to procure AGM-184 Joint Strike Missiles for its F-35 fleet in a deal worth up to $236 million. The package covers operational support equipment, spare components, repair services, and training infrastructure. Built by Norway’s Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace in partnership with RTX, the JSM is a fifth-generation cruise missile designed for precision land-attack and maritime strike missions in contested environments. Its stealth-compatible design enables seamless integration with the F-35 while preserving survivability. The approval highlights NATO’s continued push to strengthen allied airpower and precision strike capabilities across Europe.
