This critical subsystem ensures reliable engine ignition under extreme operating conditions, including high altitudes and low temperatures. The system uses advanced capacitor-based technology to generate powerful sparks for combustion. The initiative supports next-generation fighter programs and aims to reduce dependence on imported components. It also reflects lessons learned from past supply chain disruptions. By developing the system domestically, India gains greater control over design, production, and upgrades, reinforcing its long-term defense self-reliance goals.
