is expanding its military aircraft conversion capacity with the creation of a new A330 MRTT conversion hub in Seville, Spain. The facility will support the transformation of commercial A330 airliners into aerial refueling and transport aircraft while also providing maintenance and modernization services for existing MRTT fleets. Scheduled to open by 2027, the site will raise Airbus’ yearly conversion capability and support hundreds of direct and indirect jobs through infrastructure upgrades and technical training programs. Airbus described Seville as strategically suited for complex military aircraft conversion work. The expansion comes shortly after Italy signed a deal for six new A330 MRTT platforms intended to replace its Boeing KC-767 tanker fleet.
