India’s ambitious AMCA fighter engine effort is increasingly positioning Godrej Aerospace as a major private-sector partner for the upcoming AHTCE turbofan program being developed by Gas Turbine Research Establishment and Safran. The proposed 110–120 kN engine is expected to power the AMCA Mk-2 stealth fighter and support capabilities such as supercruise, stealth optimization, and enhanced payload carriage. Godrej’s experience in the Kaveri engine project, combined with its expanding aerospace facility in Maharashtra and links to global aerospace supply chains including Boeing, Airbus, GE Aerospace, and Rolls-Royce, strengthens its candidacy. The program is expected to require mastery over high-temperature metallurgy, turbine blade technology, cooling systems, and advanced precision engineering.
