The United States has cleared the sale of Bell 505 Jet Ranger X aircraft to the Philippines under a $150 million defense package aimed at improving rotary-wing operational readiness. The agreement covers simulators, spare components, ground support equipment, maintenance training, and long-term logistical assistance. Designed as a lightweight multi-role helicopter, the Bell 505 can support pilot instruction, medical evacuation, and light operational missions. US officials noted that the procurement will help close training gaps, improve interoperability, and support regional security cooperation with a key Southeast Asian ally.
