Northrop Grumman is continuing development of its ITDS under a new US Army contract, moving into advanced testing and integration stages. The system is designed to improve aircraft survivability by detecting and classifying threats in real time, even beyond the pilot’s line of sight. Using the ATHENA sensor suite, ITDS delivers full-spectrum situational awareness and integrates with defensive countermeasures for coordinated responses. Future work will include system demonstrations, flight trials, and deployment on platforms such as Apache helicopters and next-generation aircraft.
