Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is pursuing an ambitious long-term strategy to deliver nearly 1,000 military helicopters over the next two decades. The plan includes production of platforms such as the ALH Dhruv, LUH, Rudra, LCH Prachand, IMRH, and DBMRH, supporting the operational needs of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. Expansion of manufacturing facilities, including the Tumakuru helicopter complex, will enable significantly higher production rates. The initiative supports India’s goal of replacing ageing foreign-origin fleets while strengthening indigenous aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
