Indian companies ArcanumSpace and Quetzalcoatl have developed the concept of ARC ODIN, a hybrid robotic system capable of traveling across terrain and taking flight when ground movement becomes difficult.The system is designed as a dual-mode tactical platform that can transition between an unmanned ground vehicle and an unmanned aerial vehicle. This combination is intended to provide military personnel with greater flexibility when operating in environments containing obstacles or restricted terrain.As a ground vehicle, ARC ODIN can move across accessible terrain while carrying out reconnaissance or other tactical functions. When an obstacle prevents further ground movement, the platform can transition into aerial operation and continue its mission from above.The ability to switch between ground and air modes could improve situational awareness in complex environments. Soldiers may be able to use the system to observe areas that are difficult or dangerous to access directly.The aerial mode could also help provide beyond-line-of-sight visibility, allowing operators to gather information beyond physical obstacles or terrain limitations.
