Germany is expanding domestic armored vehicle production through a new agreement between Patria and KNDS Deutschland Maintenance to assemble and integrate Patria 6×6 vehicles under the CAVS program. The partnership supports two German military contracts awarded to Patria in December 2025, with serial production expected to increase from early 2027. KNDS will undertake assembly and final integration in Germany, while Patria provides the technical knowledge needed to establish local manufacturing capabilities. The initiative is intended to create a broader German production network involving several domestic suppliers. The CAVS program offers participating nations a common Patria 6×6 platform while allowing configurations to be tailored to national operational needs. Finland, Sweden, Latvia, Denmark, and Germany have already received vehicles, while Norway and the UK are also participants. The agreement follows other Patria vehicle developments, including cooperation on the TRACKX tracked armored vehicle and accelerated production for Slovakia’s 8×8 program. It highlights growing European efforts to strengthen local armored vehicle production and multinational defense-industrial cooperation.
