Canada has approved a major expansion of its Armored Combat Support Vehicle modernization initiative through a new agreement with General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada covering additional wheeled armored platforms and long-term industrial cooperation. The procurement strengthens the Canadian Army’s effort to replace aging support vehicles with a modular fleet capable of performing multiple battlefield roles, including troop transport, command and control, engineering support, casualty evacuation, electronic warfare, and vehicle recovery. Based on the proven LAV 6.0 platform, the vehicles offer enhanced mobility, survivability, and operational flexibility for domestic and expeditionary missions. Alongside vehicle production, the strategic partnership focuses on future capability development, technology integration, lifecycle sustainment, and modernization programs designed to address emerging battlefield requirements. The expanded fleet will also support allied security initiatives through additional vehicle production intended for international assistance programs.
