Tonbo Imaging has unveiled SharkJet, a next-generation jet-powered loitering munition developed for high-intensity warfare scenarios requiring rapid engagement and precision strike capability. Presented at the North Tech Symposium 2026, the autonomous platform incorporates turbojet propulsion to deliver much higher speeds than traditional loitering drones, enabling faster penetration into defended airspace and reducing exposure to enemy countermeasures. SharkJet is designed to function effectively in electronically contested and GNSS-denied environments through a combined GNSS and INS navigation architecture. The system can reportedly be deployed from ground launchers, naval vessels, and potentially airborne platforms, giving armed forces greater operational flexibility for land and maritime strike missions.
