Under a $78.5 million arrangement, the United States government has given Saudi Arabia permission to purchase MK 54 MOD 0 lightweight torpedoes. Saudi has requested 20 lightweight torpedoes that are ready to be launched, along with spare parts, MK 54 recoverable exercise torpedoes, handling shapes, and containers. The agreement also includes logistical and program assistance, which may include two representatives from the US government or an RTX contractor travelling to the Gulf nation.
