Solar Defence and Aerospace Ltd. (SDAL) has announced that its indigenous Bhargavastra counter-swarm drone defense system is approaching the final phase of internal development, with comprehensive trials expected to conclude within the coming months. Designed as a vehicle-mounted hard-kill solution, the integrated platform combines surveillance radar, electro-optical and infrared sensors, passive RF detection, command-and-control software, and multiple micro-missile launchers into a single mobile air defense system. The architecture is intended to detect, track, classify, and neutralize hostile drones and loitering munitions that may evade traditional electronic countermeasures. Recent demonstrations validated the integration of the radar, missile, fire-control system, and electro-optical tracking components, while ongoing work is focused on extending interceptor range and improving engagement capability. The program represents another important step in strengthening India’s indigenous counter-drone ecosystem through domestically developed technologies.
