Hanwha Aerospace and Thales have signed an agreement to examine the integration of South Korea’s Chunmoo missile family with the Thales X-Fire launcher system. The project covers three missile types, including guided rockets and tactical ballistic missiles with ranges extending up to 290 kilometers. Mounted on a highly mobile Daimler Truck Zetros platform, X-Fire is being developed as a modular long-range fires solution for future European defense requirements. By incorporating combat-proven Chunmoo munitions, the partnership could accelerate the deployment of advanced strike capabilities while supporting Europe’s efforts to strengthen sovereign defense technologies.
