NIOA and L3Harris Technologies have deepened cooperation to manufacture missile components in Australia, supporting the country’s drive for defense self-reliance. Their renewed agreement targets local production of solid rocket motors and warheads, critical elements used across modern precision weapons. The project aligns with Australia’s GWEO strategy, backed by major government funding to create sovereign weapons manufacturing capacity by 2030. L3Harris brings experience in propulsion systems used by US and allied missile programs. Combined with Lockheed Martin and other industry partnerships, the initiative marks a major expansion of Australia’s domestic defense industrial base.
