Lockheed Martin has successfully demonstrated a new counter-drone capability by using its GRIZZLY containerized launcher to destroy a Group 3 one-way attack drone with a Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM). Conducted at Yuma Proving Ground in Arizona, the test marked the first live-fire demonstration of the launcher employing JAGM against an aerial target. The exercise integrated Lockheed Martin’s Sanctum battle management software and Fortem Technologies’ R-40 radar, completing a full detect-track-engage sequence. The successful interception highlights the growing potential of layered counter-UAS systems to defend against increasingly sophisticated drone threats.
