Estonia is enhancing its artillery capabilities through a new agreement with Lockheed Martin for three additional HIMARS systems. Alongside the procurement, the deal includes investment in domestic maintenance infrastructure, enabling local support for advanced rocket systems. The move complements Estonia’s earlier acquisitions of HIMARS and Chunmoo launchers, forming a layered long-range firepower capability. By developing local sustainment capacity, Estonia aims to ensure operational readiness and resilience. The initiative is part of a wider effort to strengthen the country’s defense industry, supported by partnerships with international firms such as Hanwha Aerospace. These developments highlight Estonia’s focus on modernizing its military and building self-sufficient defense capabilities.
