AeroVironment is expanding production of its Freedom Eagle-1 kinetic interceptor after receiving additional US government funding to accelerate manufacturing for counter-drone operations. Designed to defeat Group 2 and Group 3 unmanned aerial systems, the missile combines affordability with high-performance interception capability against larger drones and aerial threats. The new investment will support production growth at the company’s Huntsville facility while helping meet urgent operational requirements from the US Army and Combatant Commands amid rising global demand for counter-UAS systems.
