Britain has awarded MBDA a £118 million contract to supply six Land Ceptor launchers, bolstering the Sky Sabre air defense system amid growing security concerns. The deal, which sustains 140 jobs nationwide, reflects the UK government’s twin priorities of national security and industrial development. Land Ceptor employs modular CAMM missiles, effective against aircraft, drones, and cruise missiles up to 45 km away. It combines the Giraffe AMB radar with a SAMOC control system, capable of guiding 24 missiles at once. Designed to handle complex, high-speed threats, the system enhances UK and NATO defenses as drone warfare and missile attacks become increasingly prominent in Europe’s security landscape.
