Russia has proposed its 3M-14E Kalibr-PL cruise missile to the Indian Navy for submarine-based land-attack capability. With a range of up to 1,500 km, it exceeds India’s requirements and offers deep-strike capability from standoff distances. The missile can be launched from standard torpedo tubes, simplifying integration with existing submarines. However, geopolitical concerns and India’s focus on indigenous development may influence the final decision.
