Lockheed Martin is expanding the modernization of its missile manufacturing operations through a new partnership with Hadrian, which will introduce advanced automation and manufacturing technologies into its production ecosystem. A memorandum of understanding enables Hadrian to deploy its factory-as-a-service concept within one of Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control locations. Equipped with precision CNC capability, robotics, and sophisticated quality-control systems, the cell is designed to rapidly scale output of components for PAC-3 MSE, THAAD, PrSM, and GMLRS programs. The partnership supports Lockheed Martin’s broader transformation of its industrial base—an initiative that has included significant investments in digital integration, additive processes, automated assembly, and modular production frameworks. These efforts aim to speed up output while reducing vulnerabilities in supply chains. The company has also strengthened ties with smaller, specialized suppliers to diversify manufacturing pathways and reduce dependence on single-source components. This aligns with US defense industry priorities to maintain readiness, respond to rising missile demand, and increase flexibility for domestic and allied customers.
