India has carried out the first successful flight trial of the indigenous TARA glide bomb range-extension kit, a new precision-strike solution developed by Research Centre Imarat. Designed for integration with aircraft such as the Su-30MKI, Mirage 2000, Jaguar, and Tejas, the system converts standard unguided bombs into long-range precision-guided weapons. Equipped with advanced navigation and electro-optical targeting technologies, TARA is expected to significantly enhance the Indian Air Force’s stand-off strike capability while lowering procurement costs through domestic production.
