The AMCA MkII represents India’s vision for a next-generation network-enabled stealth fighter, combining advanced artificial intelligence with cutting-edge mission systems. Central to the aircraft is the AI-based E-Pilot, which functions as a virtual co-pilot by automating complex battlefield tasks, improving situational awareness, and supporting rapid decision-making during combat. The fighter is being designed to operate within an interconnected combat cloud, linking manned aircraft, unmanned systems, command centers, and surveillance platforms into a unified operational network. While the project is being developed indigenously, growing India-France defense cooperation could strengthen future collaboration in AI, mission computing, avionics, and unmanned teaming technologies, further enhancing the platform’s long-term capabilities.
