The Akash-NG missile defense platform has been specifically refined to defend against coordinated cruise missile barrages supported by electronic warfare and decoy tactics. Compared with its predecessor, the new system offers extended engagement ranges of around 70 kilometers, faster reaction times, and improved target discrimination. Its AESA radar and active seeker technology allow simultaneous tracking and interception of multiple threats, while integration with electro-optical sensors ensures continued effectiveness even under heavy jamming conditions. Supported by India’s Integrated Air Command and Control System, Akash-NG forms a key component of a layered defense network designed to protect strategic assets from advanced aerial threats.
