Austria is set to modernize its rotary-wing fleet after the US State Department approved a proposed $1.5-billion sale of UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment. The package is designed to improve the country’s operational readiness and deepen cooperation with US and partner forces. American authorities emphasized that the transaction supports broader security and stability objectives in Europe. Before implementation, the sale must receive approval from the US Congress.
