The Canadian government has awarded contracts totaling $1.15 billion to maintain and upgrade the Royal Canadian Air Force’s fleet of CC-130J Hercules transport aircraft. The first agreement extends long-term support services, including maintenance and overhaul operations, while the second funds the implementation of the RCAF 105 modernization package. The upgrades will improve flight management, communication, and navigation systems, helping the fleet meet evolving air traffic and operational requirements. The program is expected to sustain more than 1,100 jobs across Canada through industrial support and technology integration activities. Canada’s 17-aircraft CC-130J fleet plays a key role in domestic and international transport missions, benefiting from the aircraft’s improved payload capacity, digital avionics, and long-range performance.
