Turkey has signed a contract with Turkish Aerospace Industries for the delivery of the first 20 KAAN stealth fighters to the Turkish Air Force between 2028 and 2030. The fifth-generation aircraft will initially use General Electric F110 engines before transitioning to indigenous powerplants in later variants. Developed to replace Turkey’s aging F-16 fleet, KAAN incorporates stealth shaping, sensor fusion, and network-centric warfare capabilities for operations in contested environments.
