The VL-SRSAM missile system, developed by DRDO for the Indian Navy, has entered pre-induction trials with enhanced capabilities. It now offers nearly 80 km range, Mach 4.5 speed, and 16 km altitude interception. Designed for vertical launch, it enables rapid multi-directional engagement of incoming threats like missiles, UAVs, and aircraft. It strengthens shipboard air defence layers and will be deployed on next-generation naval vessels, improving survivability in dense and high-speed threat environments.
