Astra Microwave Eyes Major QRSAM Orders as Indian Air-Defense Program Enters Production Astra Microwave Products could receive a major boost to its defense business as India prepares to move the Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile program toward production. The company expects formal orders covering the first three QRSAM regiments before the end of 2026, following its involvement in supplying electronic subsystems for the system. Designed for the Indian Army, QRSAM is intended to provide mobile air-defense protection for maneuvering forces and important military assets against a variety of aerial threats. The system integrates mobile missile launchers, surveillance and tracking radars, command-and-control elements, and support equipment into a rapidly deployable air-defense network. For Astra Microwave, the transition to production could establish a new source of recurring defense revenue while complementing its participation in other major indigenous programs. The anticipated QRSAM orders would also demonstrate how Indian defense electronics companies are increasingly moving from subsystem development and technology support toward larger-scale production contracts as domestic defense procurement expands.
