India and Russia are moving closer to a potential agreement for the Su-57E fifth-generation fighter, with discussions now focusing on both immediate aircraft deliveries and licensed production in India. The proposal includes extensive technology transfer, local manufacturing, integration of Indian-developed systems, and the possible joint development of a two-seat variant tailored to Indian Air Force requirements. The aircraft combines stealth characteristics, AESA radar, advanced electronic warfare systems, internal weapon bays, and network-centric combat capability. If finalized, the programme would significantly expand India’s domestic aerospace manufacturing base while strengthening the Indian Air Force’s future air superiority and deep-strike capabilities.
