SSS Defence has further strengthened its position in India’s indigenous small-arms sector through a new delivery of G72 submachine guns to the Punjab Police. Developed for high-intensity urban operations, the G72 fires standard 9mm NATO ammunition and offers a firing rate of approximately 900–950 rounds per minute. Its roller-delayed blowback mechanism improves controllability and accuracy during automatic fire, making it suitable for special operations, counter-terror missions, and rapid-response deployments. The platform features a modular architecture with configurable accessories, side-folding stock options, and compatibility with modern optics and suppressors. The company’s continued success with police and security agencies reflects growing acceptance of domestically manufactured firearms as viable alternatives to imported systems. Alongside its assault rifles, pistols, and sniper platforms, the G72 contributes to India’s efforts to establish a self-reliant small-arms industry while providing security forces with modern and adaptable operational equipment.
