Thailand has ordered two additional Airbus C295 tactical transport aircraft, increasing its fleet to five platforms as part of efforts to strengthen military airlift capability. The new aircraft will be operated by the Royal Thai Air Force, while maintenance support will be provided through cooperation with Thai Aviation Industries. Known for its short take-off and landing capability, the C295 is designed to operate from austere and unprepared airstrips, making it suitable for troop transport, cargo missions, disaster response, and regional logistics operations.
