Estonia has signed a follow-on agreement with South Korea for the procurement of three additional K239 Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems, further strengthening its long-range precision strike capabilities. The deal builds upon a previous 290-million-euro contract signed in December covering six Chunmoo launchers and several missile types, including guided rockets and tactical ballistic missiles. The systems are intended to complement Estonia’s HIMARS launchers supplied by the United States. Developed by Hanwha Aerospace, the Chunmoo system is mounted on a mobile 8×8 truck chassis and supports a variety of munitions, including guided rockets with ranges up to 80 kilometers and tactical ballistic missiles capable of striking targets at distances of 290 kilometers. The launcher can rapidly fire salvos within seconds, providing significant battlefield firepower and flexibility.
