DRDO has launched fresh support programs to keep India’s Prithvi-II missile force operational while next-generation systems enter service. A long-term maintenance contract seeks specialized services for continued fleet upkeep, while a separate modification package aims to improve reliability and extend service life. Possible upgrades include modern controls, refreshed onboard systems, safer propulsion components, and better integration with mobile launchers and command networks. Despite the limitations of liquid-fuel missiles, Prithvi-II remains relevant until newer solid-fuel platforms fully replace it.
