New mission kits from Sikorsky will let operators convert UH-60 Black Hawks into armed support helicopters without needing separate dedicated gunship fleets. The production-ready packages add up to six weapon stations and can include machine guns, Gatling pods, rocket launchers, and guided missiles. Operators can switch roles between tactical lift, close support, ISR, or medical evacuation in a short time. Sikorsky says the concept builds on years of combat experience and supports the Black Hawk’s planned service life beyond 2070.
